5:00 a.m. -- OPTIONAL

Here's a chance to do the legendary Vail Pass (10,666') before breakfast. You can pedal uphill only, downhill only, both, or skip the whole damn thing.  We will have transport available for your bike and you if you want to do the downhill version.

7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.

Breakfast in the hotel. They do a great job -- not to be missed.  Come by when you're ready.  Bike clothing is fine (but you might want to wait to put on those cleated bike shoes!)

NOTE: When you reach the end of the ride today you are going to want easy access to your swimsuit.  Pack accordingly.

8:30 a.m.

Depart from Vail to Glenwood Springs.

You have a choice of routes today:

16 miles

26 miles

56 miles

63 miles

78 miles (The first 15 miles are flying downhill on The Vail Pass).

This is a very flat route -- gently downhill the entire way.

If you are doing the 78-, 63-, or 56-mile route you will pass a legal marijuana dispensary along the way.  IF you wish to stop there be SURE you are carrying your government-issued photo I.D. You must show it every single time you shop, no matter how old you look.  If you are doing one of the shorter routes, there is a marijuana dispensary across the street from our hotel that closes at 6:30 p.m.  If you care not one bit about legal marijuana, that's OK too!

11:00 am. - 5:00 p.m.

The ride ends today at the lovely Hotel Colorado, where Teddy Roosevelt stayed.  Your bags will be waiting for you in your room.  (Unless you are super speedy reaching the end, in which case... congratulations!)

Grab your swimsuit and walk across the street to the amazing Glenwood Hot Springs -- a giant outdoor swimming pool heated by natural thermal hot springs water.  Changing rooms are available.  No need for a locker -- we wil have a private cabana and you can stash your stuff there.

Show your wristband to get free entry to the hot springs, towel rental, and anything you want to eat or drink from the Grill or Snack Bar.  You can either just step up and order food (faster), or we will have waiter service at our cabana.

6:30 p.m

Meet in the lobby of the Hotel Colorado.  We will walk over the beautiful bridge to dinner.

Don't stay up too late -- we have a VERY big day tomorrow!
